Privacy Policy

Transparency Registry — transparencyregistry.org
Effective Date: March 11, 2026

1. Who We Are

Transparency Registry (“TR,” “we,” “us”) is a public accountability platform for AI model registration and disclosure. We operate at transparencyregistry.org.

2. What We Collect

When you sign up, we collect your first name, last name, and email address. If you register as a company or AI owner, we may also collect your company name and country. We do not collect payment card numbers directly — payments are processed by a secure payment processing service.

We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and diagnostic purposes. We do not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate your account, send you verification and service emails, and notify you of platform updates. We do not sell your name. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

4. Email and Sharing

During the beta period: Your email address is private by default. All beta accounts are set to opt-out — we will not share your email with anyone during this period.

After beta: We may share email addresses with carefully selected trusted partners where we believe the communication would be relevant and valuable to you. You will always have the ability to opt out of this sharing in your account settings. We will never share your email with parties whose purpose we consider harmful, exploitative, or contrary to the mission of this platform.

We will always send you transactional emails related to your account (verification, receipts, security notices). You cannot opt out of these while your account is active.

5. Public Information

Certain information is public by design. This includes your account type, verification status, any AI model registrations you submit, and your public trust record. By registering a model, you agree that this information is visible to all users of the platform. This is a transparency platform — accountability is its purpose.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, your private profile data will be removed within a reasonable period. Public registry entries linked to your account will remain visible as part of the permanent public record, attributed to your account identifier.

8. Your Rights

You may request to view, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us through the platform. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. Deletion of your account does not remove public registry submissions from the public record.

9. Children

This platform is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date and you will be notified by an alert on your next visit. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy? Contact us through the platform. We read everything.
